Qiang Yi Tang

I was having flu, coughing and blocked nose the last few days during my trip back to my hometown to attend my cousin's wedding ceremony and dinner.

For a change, i seek medication from an approved traditional chinese medicine practisioner. I call him Uncle Goh as he is my mother's secondary schoolmate friend's husband. He boiled some chinese herbs for me and prescribed some chinese medicine in capsule form to heal my illness. Total cost more than a normal doctor will charge but worth it due to no prescription of antibiotic. In 3 days i was completely cured.

At the same time, i was also drinking the famous "Liu Ren" tea by Qiang Yi Tang, to balance my body due to the heatiness. The herbs in Liu Ren tea act synergistically to reduce cold, cough & phlegm and sore throat! Only RM2.00 per cup!

Jelutong Highway Phase II

The Jelutong Highway Phase II was opened on June 21, 2006. The highway connect Weld Quay to Penang Bridge.

Usually it take me about 50 - 60 minutes for me to return to my apartment in Gelugor from my office in Weld Quay. But yesterday, it took only 15 minutes. No traffic congestion at all.

However, the morning jam is still there due to the Jalan Pinang to Weld Quay section is still unopened. Reason given is land acquisition matters.

Hey, don't tell us that you built a highway before acquiring the land?

Charbroil Hiong Piah from Gunong Rapat

This is the famous charbroil hiong piah from Gunong Rapat, Ipoh. The brand is 32 manufactured by Yee Hup Bakery. The originally factory is located at Gunong Rapat New Village, Ipoh.

Due to strong demand from local and Singaporean, they have branched out to a new place in Taman Ipoh Jaya, Ipoh.

Fresh out from the oven, it is packed and sold! Most of the time, customers have to pre-order and wait for about 5 - 10 minutes to get their order. 10 pieces in one packing and cost RM5.50 per pack. Please be warned not to buy it during the Malaysia/Sinagpore holiday, if you have no pre-order! Waiting time could be more than 30 minutes!

How it taste? Good. The skin is crispy since it is fresh from the oven and with the sesame sugar flowing in each time you bite it!

As for me, this is much better than the Penang famous brand, Ghee Hiang or Him Heang!

SNE Kintop Capsule

My youngest sister is concern on my figure. Yes, based on international standard of measurement, I am obese.

Every beginning of the year I always make my new year resolution to reduce my weight but ....

As all Penangites will tell you that Penang food is the best, my intake of calories thru food exceeded the burn out rate! I've tried exercising but due to my tight work schedule, I always skip the exercising part.

My sister has recommended me to try Kintop Capsule I II III which consist of natural plant extracts : Precious Chinese herbal combination including Radix Polygoni Multiflori, Radix Astragali, Radix Notoginseng, Cortex Eucommiae, Radix et Rhizome Rhei and Spica Prunellae, to reduce weight. The herbal capsule is distributed by SNE Marketing Sdn Bhd. Every morning, I need to take 2 capsules, there is all required to be done! Hmm, simple right.

It utilizes the latest concept of “fat cells” to stimulate the activity of fat cells and recomposes new cell structure. The concept mainly promotes the stimulation of enzyme activity to dissolve fat. It also enhances the transformation rate of fat into energy, regulates the metabolism of fat and prevents the absorption of new fat. A balance of nutrition absorption and metabolism are achieved.

Hopefully I could enjoy a “healthy body” and “slim figure” in three months time! Wish me best of luck!

Famous Chicken Biscuits

My hometown, Bidor, located in the State of Perak, is famous for its Chicken Biscuits. It is manufactured by Pun Chun Restaurant. The Chicken Biscuits from this restaurant are the original and famous in South East Asia.

There are two types, the original (left) and the crispy (right).

The ingredients for the chicken biscuits are wheat flour, bean curd, sugar, winter melon, maltose, lard, sesame, spices, eggs and chicken flavouring. It is a secret recipe which has been handed down thru several generation.

Yes, there is no chicken in the chicken biscuits. Try it, and you like it. My preference, both are good.

Pun Chun restaurant is also famous for its Wan Tan Mee and Duck Thigh Mee. Here, you can have the mother of all wan tan, big with filing of prawn and pork.
