Rakuya Japanese Restaurant & Sake Bar is one of the most affordable authentic Japanese cuisine in Penang. The restaurant is located at the Upper Penang Road. You can get set lunch from RM16.00 onwards while set dinner from RM18.00 onwards.

I was there on June 24, 2006 together with some friends. As usual, i ordered grill salmon set. It was prepared by the main chef, Shingo Kosaka from Japan. The salmon skin was grilled until crispy while the meat still was juicy.

The restaurant was not full due to the after lunch hour. Was told by my friend that the place is packed during lunch and dinner time!
